Barbara Kay Peigare, 77, of Hartshorne, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2022 in Oklahoma City.

She was born on July 7, 1944 in Atoka, Oklahoma to Bernal and Thelma Oleta (Withrow) Corbitt. She graduated from Allen High School in Allen, Oklahoma. Due to the fact her father worked road construction, she moved a lot growing up, living in several states and towns while attending numerous schools. This could be one of the main reasons she enjoyed traveling, cruises, family vacations and sitting on ocean beaches watching the sunset. She loved large family gatherings and cooking big meals, especially during the holidays. She had a passion for cooking various meals and desserts, and assisted in developing a cookbook of family recipes. Also, she had a fondness for dogs, and for a time ran a small kennel from home where she raised and sold Scottish Terriers and Cocker Spaniels.

Barbara married Mike Peigare on May 12, 1967 in Durant, Oklahoma and he survives her. She raised one daughter, Kelli Peigare Mabry, who preceded her in death. Two sons, Dennis Peigare and Keith Peigare; two grandchildren, Krista Richardson, Taylor Peigare, and one great-grandchild, Tenley Richardson; one sister, Brenda McNutt and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Gwen Walston, Linda Turpin and Betty James.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brumley-Mills Funeral Home in Hartshorne. Services will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at Brumley-Mills Chapel in Hartshorne with Red Coleman officiating. Burial will be at Mountain Station Cemetery.
