It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Raymond Ortega, who unexpectedly passed on March 20, 2021. He was born on October 21, 1992 in San Bernardino, CA to Lissa Duran and George Ortega.
Raymond loved growing up in Redlands, CA, where he played baseball and completed primary and secondary education. During high school, he enjoyed the many friendships he developed and being a part of the Reserve Officers Training Corp (ROTC). He successfully graduated Orangewood High School in 2010. As an adult, he spent some time attending classes at Crafton Hills College and explored various career opportunities such as car sales, construction, and working for a local pizza shop.
Raymond was full of life. He was the biggest goofball you would have ever met. Wherever he went, he would light up the room with his dancing, singing, and contagious laugh. He enjoyed sharing his love of music, the Dodgers, and cars with his family and friends. Raymond was a man of faith.
He believed in God and his gift of salvation. He had a passion for anything he set his mind to. Raymond was always great with kids and loved to play with his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He looked forward to one day having children of his own with his girlfriend, and love of his life, Nicole Rodriguez.
Family was everything to Raymond. He was an amazing son, brother, uncle, and boyfriend. He is survived by his parents and his older brothers George Ortega, Orlando Duran, Mychal Duran, and stepbrother Michael Valdespino. His older sisters Bonnie Ortega, Deseray Duran, Diana Duran, and Stephanie Roque. His younger brothers Tony Ortega and Daniel Valdespino. His six nephews and seven nieces. His girlfriend, Nicole Rodriguez. His dog Scully. And his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. We will cherish the memories we have with Raymond and he will live within us every day.
Open visitation will be from 10am to 12pm, Friday April 16th, at Emmerson Bartlett Memorial Chapel. This will be a viewing only. Services and celebration of life will follow at 1pm at the Rodriguez Ranch, 11030 Nevada St. Redlands CA, 92373.
