JOHNSTON CITY - Garry Wayne Dawes, 53, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Tim Grounds Hunting Club on Grassy Road in rural Williamson County as a result of a hunting accident.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2008, in Murman and Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, with the Rev. April Turner officiating. Burial will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

Garry was born Dec. 8, 1954, in Herrin, the son of Robert Lee and Betty Jean (Snedden) Dawes. He married Connie (Hallstein) on April 3, 1976, in Johnston City. She survives.

Garry had worked at Allen Industries for 19 years and had worked at Wolohan Lumber Yard. He was an avid sportsman and Dallas Cowboys fan. He was a member of the Cedar Grove United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his father of Johnston City; three daughters, Amanda Rady and husband, Scott, of Marion, Brandi Dawes at home and Amber Dawes at home; two brothers, Douglas Dale Dawes of Herrin, and Randy Benjamin Dawes and wife, Melody, of Johnston City; a halfsister, Jerry Lee Thomas and husband, Brian, of Marion; several nieces and nephews; and friends, Paul Marlow, Tim Grounds and all of his hunting buddies.

He was preceded in death by his mother; granddaughter, Olivia Nicole Rady; and one brother, Bobby Gene Dawes.
