Born in Spartanburg County on April 22, 1946, son of the late Henry Roland Blackwell (1918–1984) and Myrtle Smith Blackwell (1920–2010); husband of Connie (Huntsinger) Lane.
A retired truck driver at Crete Company and served in the South Carolina National Guard.
Also survived by his sons, Thomas Donald Blackwell, Jr. and Timmy Blackwell; and grandchildren.
Predeceased by his brother, Larry Henry Blackwell, Sr. (1944-2013).
