Battle Creek - Donald E. Walker, age 87 of Battle Creek, died Tuesday, February 15, 2022. He was born November 7, 1934, in Stockbridge, Michigan the son of Leonard Mason and Grace Edna (Riggs) Walker and resided in the Southern Michigan area, graduating from Leslie High School in 1952. He was employed by Clark Equipment Company in 1955 and retired in 1986 with 31 years of service as Customer Service Manager. Following retirement, he and his wife became co-owners of Collateral Management Company until 1992 when they both retired and began traveling. Donald was member of the Baptist Church of Rives Junction, Michigan and attended the Community of Christ Church in Battle Creek. Donald is survived by his wife, Nilah J. "Sammy" Walker; son, James D. (Sue) Campbell of Battle Creek; grandson, James D. (Krista) Campbell Jr. of Warsaw, Indiana; granddaughter, Wendy S. (Nick) Ginsberg of Wyoming, Michigan; three great-granddaughters: Alyssa, Abigail and Maia; one great-grandson, Parker; his sister, Beverly (Douglas) Miers of Rives Junction, Michigan; nephew, William (Linda) Miers of Rives Junction, Michigan, two great-nieces: Elizabeth and Victoria; and a sister-in-law, Audrey L. Grattan of Port Huron, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law: Donna Studaker and her husband Allyn. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 21, 2022, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Elder Ellie Easley, Pastor of Community of Christ Church officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
