Maxine Dixon, 93, of Effingham, IL, born August 14, 1928, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at home surrounded by family.
Maxine was born to Albert and Helen (Bergfeld) Schoenhoff. She married Lester K. Dixon in 1949. He preceded her in death in 1997.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lester; son, Craig; sister, Naomi (Schoenhoff) Funneman; brother, Gary (Deloris) Schoenhoff.
After 20 years, Maxine retired from St. Anthony Memorial Hospital's business office. Maxine was especially known for her thoughtfulness in giving of her time in visits and sharing her beautiful roses. Many might remember receiving roses from her garden.
She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
According to Maxine's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. No services will be held at this time.
