After receiving his basic training he was assigned to Schofield Barracks, Hawaii and was at Pearl Harbor Dec. 7, 1941 when the Japanese attacked. He was a member of the army signal corps.
He has two brothers serving with the army: Staff Sgt Quirrine Picozzi is stationed at Camp Sebert, AL and Eugene Picozzi is at Fort Still, OK
