Marilyn Orr, 90, of Sweeny, Texas, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, February 10, 2022. Marilyn was born on February 17, 1931, to B. E. (Doc) and Zelma (Bruce) Curlee in West Columbia, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan Orr; and brother, J. M. (Sonny) Curlee.

Marilyn is survived by her sister, Shirley Scott; and brother, Marvin Sessions (Bubba) Curlee; two sons, Michael (Pug) and wife, June, and Darryl (Darry) and wife, Teresa; grandchildren, Reece (Ashley) Orr, Joy (Chad) Westfall, Misty (Billy) Losack, Danny Orr, Tabitha (Cole) Degges, Janey (Jacob Rios) Orr, and Cody (Brittany) Schuerg; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Casey Orr, Sunny Westfahl, Kelby (Erika) Losack, Sierra (Cody) Harralson and Braden Losack, Caleb and Micaiah Orr, Bailey McGrael, Brielle Rios, Cutter, Lucas and Covey Schuerg; and great-great-grandchildren, Jezebel, Jayde, Rowan and Josiah Losack and Lucas and Chris Harralson.

Marilyn was a loving Mother, Maw Maw and Meir Meir. She loved fishing and spending time on the beach. She was a wonderful cook and was best known for her homemade pies. Everyone was welcome at her table.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to our "adopted sister," Karen Hanna, Marilyn's caregiver for five years; the nurses and staff at Sweeny Hospital and the nurses and staff at A-Med Hospice.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Friday morning prior to the services.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022, at the First Baptist Church, 402 N. Main St., Sweeny, Texas, with Brother John Price officiating. Interment will follow at Sweeny Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Reece Orr, Danny Orr, Cody Schuerg, Noel Orr, Bubba Orr, James Lingo, and Ralph Cole.

Honorary Pallbearers are Richard Clarke, George Sewell, Robert Benefield, Ricky Finley, and Larry Chandler.
