Pat was also preceded in death by her brother, Leon Towell (Beverly) and two of her daughters, Rebecca Sue "Becki" Martin and Laura Martin "Lauri" McDonald (Michael).
Here to carry on her memory are her brother David Towell (Karen) of Bowling Green, Kentucky and two daughters, Teresa Marie "Terri" Donner of Louisville, Kentucky and Patricia Martin "Patti" Howard (Todd) of Fishers, Indiana; seven grandchildren, Nick Aiden Donner, Chase Martin Donner (Callie), Amelia Jo Higdon (Cory), Jake Martin McDonald, Emily Ann Ebelhar (Jacob), Adam Martin Howard and Katie Jayne Howard; six great-grandchildren, Mabry Jayne, Liesl Marie and Carson Douglas Higdon, Ansley Mae, Brooks Bradley and Blake Everett Donner.
Pat graduated from Male High School in 1956, attended Baylor University and Pat married Lloyd Franklin Martin. Pat started her career in bookkeeping and later founded and owned Action Print of Louisville before retiring from Beechmont Press as a saleswoman. Pat was a member of West Broadway Baptist Church for many years.
An avid sports enthusiast, the only thing Pat loved more than being a season ticketholder at Louisville Cardinal basketball games was cheering on her grandchildren's activities as their biggest fan. Lovingly referred to as "Grandma Pat" by her grandchildren and "Gigi" by her great-grandchildren, Pat attended countless basketball, baseball, soccer, football and lacrosse games as well as scouts, hot air ballooning, dance and horseback riding events. Pat loved to play Rummikub and SkipBo in recent years and often taught others so they could enjoy with her. She would attend Bingo whenever the opportunity arose and loved sharing the prizes with her great-grandchildren. Pat had a passion for collectibles and a flare for fashion especially costume jewelry. Pat loved Belgian waffles, banana bread, deep dish pizza and any kind of sweets. Pat loved to knit, work puzzles, read her newspaper and spend time with her family.
Pat marched to the beat of her own drum, never failed to surprise us and lived life to the fullest even though she faced significant health challenges.
A private celebration of life will be planned for family at a later date. Intenment will be conducted at Resthaven Memorial Park.
