She was a daughter of the late Richard and Myrtle Jones Hummer.
Jo Ann loved spending time with her husband. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading mystery books. Stephen King books were her favorite.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, son, Robert S. Smith; and daughter, Karen Ann Smith; brother, Richard; and sister, Dorothy.
Left to honor her memory is her loving husband of 57 years, Robert D. Smith; brothers, Tommy, Billy and Jimmy; sisters, Betty and Donna; and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be held Wednesday, with the Rev. C. E. Coleman officiating. Friends may call prior to services at Kniffen O'Malley Leffler Funeral & Cremation Services Inc., Wilkes-Barre.
Interment will be announced at a later date in Albert Cemetery, Mountain Top.
