Mrs. Susie Smith Fudge, 58, mother of the beloved Bennie Lee Fudge, Church of Christ minister, of Athens Route One, passed away at Jackson's Clinic, Lester, October 29, following an operation two days before.
Mrs. Fudge, wife of the late E. B. Fudge, who died last May, was born in Coffee County, Tennessee and was the daughter of the late Rebecca Kendall and Sam Smith. She was a devoted member of the Church of Christ for twenty-eight years.
Funeral services were held at O'Neal Church of Christ on Sunday with Brother A. J. Rollings officiating, assisted by Irven Lee of Florence, Elam Kykendall and Edwin Spencer, all ministers of the Church of Christ. McConnell-Service directed burial.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Phillip Copeland, Tampa, Florida, Mrs. Alfred Meeks, Thorp Springs, Texas, Mrs. Robert Waller, Nashville, and Miss Edith Fudge, Madison, Tennessee; four sons, Bennie Lee Fudge, Roy S. Fudge, Curtis Edward Fudge and Clarence Fudge.
Serving as pallbearers were the sons and two sons-in-law, Robert Waller and Alfred Meeks.
