AZALEE G. FITCHBEN, affectionately known as "Mickey", departed this life on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at the age of 78. She was born November 15, 1933 in Newberry, SC to the late Eugene Griffin and Bertha Means Griffin. Azalee called Stamford her home for over 56 years. She worked hard all of her life, working for Northeast Utilities for 15 years, and as a private duty nurse for over 20. Mickey spent most of her life leaving a lasting and definite impression on the lives she touched. Her smile always reflected the compassion and love she felt for her many friends and family. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Griffin of Stamford, her two sisters, Marie G. Taylor of Norwalk, and Vera Griffin of Columbia, SC and three grandchildren, Steven Griffin Jr. of West Haven, CT and Justin Seaton and Jayden Griffin, both of Stamford. In addition to her parents, Azalee was preceded in death by her son, Steven Griffin. Mickey's family will receive friends and relatives on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 4 to 8pm at Bosak Funeral Home & Cremation, 453 Shippan Avenue in Stamford. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 2nd at 10am at Greater Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church, 27 Baxter Avenue in Stamford. Interment will immediately follow at Long Ridge Union Cemetery, Erskine Road in Stamford.
