Eldon J. Haskell
1936 - 2022

Eldon J. Haskell, 85, of Springville, Utah, died peacefully Friday, February 4, 2022, at the hospital in Murray, Utah, due to COVID. He was born in Payson, Utah, on March 23, 1936, the son of Ernest "LeRoy" Haskell and Beulah Pierce Haskell. He was a brother to three sisters whom he loved dearly, and they loved him so much. He always looked out for them. He was their protector.

He married Leona Valdez on October 30, 1971, in Payson, Utah. He was previously married to and divorced Jolene Hudson. Eldon loved the outdoors; hunting and fishing were his favorite things to do. He also loved helping his father pick vegetables in their family garden. He was very athletic. While in high school, he loved track and field, and many other sports. He loved jumping over cars, which he considered a sport.

He had many jobs. The one he enjoyed the most was working at Creer Sheet Metal in Provo. He did so many fantastic projects in that line of work. He was very close to his workers the Creer Brothers. He retired at 65 years old and always kept himself busy. Camping was another thing he loved to do with family. They went every weekend in the summer — many happy memories. He will be missed by many people.

He was the proud father of eight children, many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who he loved dearly. His children: Amii Haskell Gabbitas, Wendi Haskell Mortensen, Cindy Losee (Larry), Ellen Swan, Eddy Jo Haskell, Angela Littler, Tammy Haskell, Bob Haskell (Sondie).

He was preceded in death by his father, E. LeRoy Haskell; mother, Beulah Pierce Haskell; sisters, Joyce Snow (Robert), Neva Jean Peterson (Jim); his son, Eddy Jo Haskell; daughters, Ellen Swan, Angela Littler and Cindy Losee (Larry).

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Leona; daughters, Amii Haskell Gabbitas, Wendi Haskell Mortensen, and Tammy Haskell; and son, Bob Haskell (Sondie). A wonderful and loving sister, Lois Hadlock (Lowell).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Wheeler Mortuary, 211 East 200 South in Springville. There will be a viewing at the mortuary from 9:30 to 10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Springville, Utah.
