John H. Travers, 86, of 21 Madison street, Chicopee Falls, died today after a brief illness. He was born at Chesterfield, August 29, 1858, son of the late Martin and Ellen Travers, and had lived at Chicopee Falls since 1912. For 28 years he was employed at the J. Stevens Arms company, where he was popularly known as "Pop." He leaves his widow, Mrs. Ellen (Baldwin) Travers; a son, J. Martin Travers of Chelsea, Vt.; a daughter, Mary E. Travers, at home; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be held at the Frank C. Tytunas funeral home Wednesday morning at 8, follows by requiem high mass at St. Patrick's church at 9. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery, Hinsdale.
