He was born on October 22, 1941, to the late Realus Edward Steele and Beulah Tucker Steele.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith Steele, one sister, Brenda Young, and one brother, R.E. Steele.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Cheryl Steele Kiefer (William) of Patrick Springs, VA, three sisters, Sharon Corbett of Martinsville, VA, Kaye Glad of Stuart, VA, Rhonda Steele of Lawsonville, NC, two brothers, Dale Steele and Reggie Steele both of Lawsonville, NC, two grandchildren, Raechel S. Kiefer, Rebekah Schumaker (Landon), one great-grandchild, Claire Judith Schumaker, special fur-friend, Miller, special friend, Tim Wade, special caregiver, Robin Milette, and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on February 8, 2022, at Norris Funeral Services in Stuart, VA. Burial will follow at Stuart Cemetery with Reggie Steele officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, all restrictions mandated by the state guidelines must be followed in addition to the family's request mask be worn.
