Aaron C. Johnson, 35, of 160 Country Lane, Kersey, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at his residence.

He was born October 26, 1986, in St. Marys, son of Wayne P. and Cynthia Taylor Johnson. Aaron graduated from St. Marys Area High School, Class of 2005 and continued his education at Williamsport Technical, where he studied Forestry.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his son, Hunter, who was his pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Kelly Snyder (Josh) of St. Marys; his maternal grandmother, Ethel Taylor of St. Marys; his niece Haisley Snyder; his dearest friend and Hunter's mother, Kayla Gillen of St. Marys; and by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Aaron was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Clifford "Skip" and Alice Johnson and his maternal grandfather, Richard Taylor.

Aaron loved life! He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter, trapper and fisherman. From the time that he was very young, Aaron was passionate about trapping. He would catch small animals around the house in a live trap, only to release them and catch them over and over again. As he grew older, he continued his love for the outdoors. Everyone who knew Aaron, also knew that he really enjoyed experimenting with new recipes and cooking the wild game that he brought home. However, he wasn't always the best at cleaning up the kitchen afterwards!

He was a great father and nothing made him more proud than his son, Hunter. As Hunter's mom Kayla said, "As much as I hate to admit it, he's Daddy's boy". Aaron started taking Hunter fishing and into the woods with him when he was just barely walking. He was familiar with camping at an early age too as his Dad and extended family introduced him to family gatherings at local camping sites. We all knew that he was going to be his Daddy's clone!

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in the St. Mary's Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Peter Augustine Pierjok, OSB, Pastor, officiating.

Memorials, if desired, may be made payable to Hunter J. Johnson and mailed to Northwest Bank, 39 South Street, St. Marys, PA 15857, where a custodial account is in place for his benefit.
