Born February 18, 1930 in Gillespie to George W. and Beth Glenna (Blue) Berry, he married Veda June Vaughn on December 9, 1950 in McLeansboro.
Surviving are his wife; five daughters, Joyce (Glen) Brewer, Linda (Mike) Dickson, Candra Gouliard, Sandra Starnes and Molly Berry; two sons, David (Patricia) Berry and Geoffrey Berry; and two sisters, Esther (Victor) Rubsam and Eileen (Russell) Swanson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
George worked in inventory control at Caterpillar, Inc. for 44 years, retiring in 1991.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from August 1, 1951 to July 31, 1953, attaining the rank of Corporal.
Burial will be in Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin.
