She was born December 16, 1922, at Winnsboro, Louisiana, a daughter of the late Monroe Cleveland Adams and Lura Elizabeth Adams.
She was reared and educated at Lone Cedar and Start, Louisiana, and was a graduate of Start High School. She lived at Epps, Louisiana, for many years and was manager of the Bank of Oak Grove for 22 years before retiring in the 1970s.
She moved to Monticello in 1983 and earned a bachelor of science degree in psychology from the University of Arkansas at Monticello when she was past the age of 60. She was a member of Pauline Baptist Church at Monticello. She moved to Pine Bluff in 1998.
She was preceded in death on November 24, 1979, by her husband, W.A. Hogan, whom she married March 29, 1941, at Start.
Survivors include one son, David Hogan of Perryville (Perry County); one daughter, Donna Booth-Johnson of Pine Bluff; one brother, Clyde Adams of Alexandria, Louisiana; two sisters, Mae Smith of Monroe, Louisiana, and Geneva Robinson of San Antonio; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial gathering at Fuller Funeral Services today from 5 to 7 p.m. The body will be cremated.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the American Red Cross-Jefferson County Chapter, 1800 East Harding Avenue, Pine Bluff, Arkansas 71601.
