Emmet "Nick" Grogan was born March 31, 1905 in Chanarambie Twp., Murray Co., MN to Charles and Lena Zimmerman Grogan, Sr. He grew up on the farm and attended Dist. 94 rural school. In the early 1930's he worked as a carpenter and for two years he worked as a mechanic at Omberson Impl. at Chandler. Since then he has farmed with his brothers on the farm. On July 22, 1982 he passed away unexpectedly at his farm home at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 21 days. He was never married. Nick is survived by two sisters and three brothers: Mrs. Edna Smith of Worthington, MN; Charles Grogan of Chandler, MN; Woodrow Grogan of Chandler, MN; Allen Grogan of Chandler, MN and Fern, Mrs. Orville Gunderson of Lake Wilson, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Clarence. Funeral services were held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Chandler, MN, July 24, 1982 at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Robert Moritz, officiating. Mrs. Ken Borgstahl was the organist and special music was two Congregational hymns: "Rock of Ages" and "How Great Thou Art". Pallbearers: Leon Carney, Marion Van Ruler, Frank Post, Duane Spartz, John Mollema and Harris Sankey. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Lake Wilson, MN.
