Mr. Fred Bartow Bailey, for 42 years a conductor on the Georgia Railroad, entered into rest early Saturday morning, August 2, 1952, at the General Hospital after an illness of several months. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at Hopkins Funeral Home, with Dr. E.A. Verdery of Mercer University, assisted by the Rev. John Busty and the Rev. Hubert Dodd. Interment will be in the Harlem Cemetery. Mr. Bailey was a son of Clem DuBose and Minnie Williamson Bailey of Harlem. His wife, who survives, is the former Gussie Verdery of Harlem. He was a member of the Methodist Church and an active mason. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Jake Howard of Augusta, Mrs. Irvin Roth of Arlington, Va., Mrs. Jack Morris of Miami, Fla., and Mrs. E.W. Hatcher of Harlem.
