Claudia was born in Johnson City, NY, on November 11, 1944, the daughter of the late Ernest and Clementine Tripp Hooker. For many years she had worked alongside the White Family on the family farm and assisted with the operation of the sawmill. She had served as the Historian for the Town of German and the German Baptist Church. She had also served on the Chenango County Election Board for several years. Claudia was well-known for her cookies and was an avid Green Bay Packers and John Wayne fan.
She is survived by her children. She also leaves behind her grandchildren; great-grandchildren; a brother; sisters; a special nephew, whom they raised and their children; a special friend, who has been a dear friend of Claudia's for over 60 years; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred White, on November 26, 2017; sisters, Myrna Weaver, Sandy Alexander and Gloria Winslow; brothers, James Earl Hooker, Joseph Vincent Hooker and Ernest Raymond Hooker III; a sister-in-law, Helen Hooker; nieces, Linda Marie, Charlene Weaver and Rose Marie Winslow; and nephews, Nicholas and Joseph Hooker, Jr.
Private funeral services for family and close friends will be held at the German Baptist Church on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with her son, Pastor Andy White, officiating. Covid-19 protocol will be followed and all attending must wear face masks. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery at a later date. A celebration of life will be held after the committal in the spring where friends may join.
