Melba June Pathenos, age 91, of Belleville, Illinois passed away on Friday, January 28th, 2022. Melba was born on March 2nd, 1930, in East St. Louis.
Melba retired from the Service Paper Box Company, Pet, Inc. & Cahokia School District. She enjoyed spending time with family, cooking, trips to the beach, and helping out at her church, St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. Melba's famous saying was "Love Ya, Not Above Ya, Had Enough of Ya".

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry N. Pathenos. Parents; Everett & Ethel Robinson and brothers Arthur, Howard, Orville, and Emil Anderson, and Jackie & Bobbie Robinson; Sisters, Frieda Brown, Louise Mooney, Betty Antoff, and Doris Onstott.

Melba is survived by her first husband, Thomas Owen of Pinckneyville, IL, two daughters, Jacklyn (David) Miller of Millstadt, IL, Karen-Dill (Michael) Wells of Waterloo, IL, and four grandchildren, Denise (Michael) Mitan of Belleville, IL, George (Bobby Sue) Dill, of St. Peters, MO, Jennifer Miller of Alexandria, VA, and Dana Morgan of Belleville, IL, great-grandchildren, Brittany, Kelsey, and Alyssa Mitan, Bryce Morgan, Isaac Dill, and Sheldon Dickey. One great-great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Dickey. She is also survived by her two sisters, Patsy Rogers of Cahokia, IL, JoAnn Knight of Belleville, IL, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 at Valhalla Gaerdner Holten Funeral Home, Belleville, Illinois.

Funeral will be at 11:00 am at Sts. Constantine and Helen Orthodox Greek Church, Swansea, Illinois.

Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Barracks, St. Louis, Missouri.
