Doris Jean Onstott, nee Anderson, age 87, of O'Fallon, born Sept. 23, 1926 in E. St. Louis, died peacefully February 14, 2014 with her family by her side.
Doris was a waitress during her working years at the Paddock Lounge at the Collinsville Race Track and was co-owner of The Old Dizzy Dean Restaurant.
She was preceded in death by her former husband Robert Onstott; her parents Ethel, nee Hewitt, Robinson; her father Ira Anderson; her beloved son Billy Onstott; brothers Emil, Orville, Howard, and Arthur Anderson, and Bobby Robinson; sisters Louise Mooney, Frieda Brown, and Betty Antoff.
She is survived by her children Robert (Barbara) Onstott of Shiloh; Maureen (Chuck Staley) Lipe of Swansea; grandchildren David (Terra) Lipe, Melissa Lipe, Meara (Rhett) Shockey, Nathan (Caiti) Lipe, Christopher Monroe, Shelly (Charlie) Landfried; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Chris) Cox, Gray, Clara, and JT Lipe, Rowan Shockey, Alyssa and Bradley Landfried, Tyler, Sydney, Cori, Michaela Monroe, and baby Shockey and baby Cox on their way.
Also surviving are her siblings Melba Pathenos, Patsy Rodgers, Jo Ann Wright, and Jack Robinson.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014 at Wolfersberger Funeral Home, O'Fallon.
Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at the funeral home, with Mike Cariker officiating. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Ill.
