Margie L. Grossmann, 77, of Lafayette, IN, died on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.
She was born on October 13, 1944 in Green Hill, IN to the late Loy and Jeanette (Cottrell) Harmon. She was a 1963 graduate of Otterbein High School. Margie married Frank Grossmann on January 11, 1964 in Lafayette, IN. Her preceded her in death on January 9, 2018. Margie worked at National Homes prior to her son being born. She then made the decision to become a stay-at-home mom and take care of her family. When her son was 10 years old, she returned to work as an Executive Secretary for Lafayette Life Insurance.
Margie enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She loved to read and had read thousands of books in her lifetime. She also enjoyed going out to eat with Frank. Family was very important to Margie and she cherished every moment spent with them. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Margie is survived by one son; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; three great-nieces; and two great-great nephews.
Along with her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Billie Harmon and Robert Harmon; and a sister, Patricia Castillo.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 4, 2022 at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909. Entombment will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, 1200 Sagamore Parkway North, Lafayette, IN 47904.
