Betty was born August 7, 1936, to Theodore and Ruby (Carson) Thomsen in Madison, NE. She graduated from Madison High School. Betty married Aaron Scheffler on August 22, 1954, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Madison. To this union 5 children were born.
