❦ Early Life: Dennis was born April 19, 1949, in Provo, Utah, to Curtis Murray Gordon and Annadee Pyne Gordon. He grew up in Orem, Utah, and worked on a farm with his father, growing vegetables. He graduated from Orem High School in 1967.
❦ Life's Work | Service | Interests: He joined the Navy Reserve right out of high school. In 1969, he married Dianne Olds and had three sons. They were later divorced. While working at Geneva Steel, Dennis met Neva Ann Ferre and they were married November 6, 1982. Together they had a daughter, RandiLee. Dennis and Neva were sealed in the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple in 2011. He worked for Geneva Steel from May 1968 as a locomotive crane operator until they shut down in 1986. In August 1987, he went to work for the Utah State Prison, and spent 19 years as a maximum security lieutenant, retiring in 2011. Dennis enjoyed bowling for 40 years with one of the best teams in Utah County, consisting of Brad Hoover, Johnny Gallegos, Lynn Williams, Wayne Barnes, Wayne Frandsen, Mike Mitchell, Joe Chipman and Joe Savicki, and a few others over the years. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his family. Dennis Murray Gordon passed away January 21, 2022. He was 72.
❦ Survived By: His wife, Neva; three sons: Derek (Jennifer), Jeremy (Kristy) and Daniel (Shelle); daughter, RandiLee (Adam) Rider; 11 grandchildren: Matt (Whitney), Courtney (Zac) Bleyle, Tyler (Nalyssa), Alex, Sadie, Dakota (Sarah), McKayla (Tanner) Davis, Austin, Justin (Cheyanne), Allie and Kylie; 13 great grandchildren; brothers: Jay (Peggy), Luckie (Terri), Larry (Kim), Ronnie (Kim); and sisters: Debbie (Randy) Rowe and Shauna (Tim) Thompson.
