She was born on May 12, 1948 in Ivan, Arkansas.
Sheila worked alongside her husband Jim to establish an auto parts business in Fordyce, which they operated for twenty eight years. After selling their business Jim continued his career in auto parts and Sheila started a career at Fordyce Schools working different jobs, with her last assignment as secretary to high school counselor. Sheila retired last year with twenty years of service. She loved her job. She was also a member of First Assembly of God in Fordyce.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Sammy Evans; her parents, R.B. Raney and Alemerle Raney; and one brother, Billy Don Raney.
Sheila is survived by her husband of 54 years, Jim Gray of Ivan; two sons, Kevin Gray of Fordyce and Keith Gray of New Jersey; two daughters, Kim Metcalf of New Edinburg and Kandace Hart of Alabama; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; her siblings: Randy Raney of Fordyce, Tommy Raney of Redfield, Tim Raney of Texas, Barbara West of Sheridan, and Anita Raney of Colorado.
