Marilyn (Amidon) Brown January 21, 2022 Marilyn (Amidon) Brown, 84, of Apulia, passed peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, January 21, 2022. Born in Syracuse, Marilyn was the daughter of Floyd and Irene Amidon of Lafayette, NY. She graduated from Lafayette High School. Soon after high school, Marilyn met her husband, Robert, of 61 years. Marilyn worked several jobs while raising the four children, most notably were her years at Labrador Mountain Ski Area where she made many lifelong friends. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents, Floyd and Irene Amidon, her brother, Kenneth Amidon, and sister, Barbara Knapp. She is survived by her husband, Robert, and her sister, Rozella Edinger; her daughter, Sherry (Gary) Malone; sons, Robert, Jr., Paul (Debbie) and Thomas (Kathleen) Brown; her grandchildren, who she loved so much, Sean (Emily) and Bryan Malone, Christopher, Patrick and Daniel Brown, Casey (Emily) Brown and Nicole (David) VanErden, Emily and Amanda Brown; great-grandchildren, Aideen Brown, Melanie, Maureen and Nicholas Malone, Henry and Jolee Brown, Samuel, Allison and Jillian VanErden; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and many special friends. Marilyn throughout her years was involved in the Fabius/DeRuyter swim program. She was a member of the Fabius Republican Committee. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, and garage sales. In her retirement years, she and Bob enjoyed much of their time watching their grandchildren play high school and college sports. They both became Snowbirds and spent over 20 years in Florida where they met many wonderful friends. Calling hours, will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, from 10:00am-1:00pm, at the Hartwell Funeral Home, 461 St. Route 281, Tully, NY 13159. The funeral service will follow at 1:15pm at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the spring at Tully Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Apulia Fire Company in Marilyn's memory.
