W. T. ST.JOHN PASSES AWAY TUESDAY
Woodbury, Tenn.(1932)
William Thomas St. John, age 85 years 5 months and 15 days, passed away at his home on Hills Creek Tuesday and was buried in the family burial ground near the residence on Thursday. Mr. St. John had not been very well for some time, but the immediate cause of death was pneumonia. He is survived by his wife and 4 children. Homer St. John, Jim St. John, Mrs. Thankful Woods all of this county (Cannon) and Mrs. Willie Higdon of Muncie, Ind. He is also survived by 44 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren. Hon. J. H. Cummings made a short talk at the opening of the funeral service paying tribute to the kind life lived by the deceased. Funeral services were conducted very impressive by Charles Powell of the Christian Church of which Mr. St. John had been a member for 40 years. Pallbearers were: J. H. Cummings, Tom Vandgriff, Milo Elkins, Charles Tenpenny, Jim Tenpenny and Sherman Woods. Funeral was in charge of McMillen and Company.
