Audrey L. White, 80, of Falconer, NY, passed away early Saturday, December 18, 2021, at UPMC Chautauqua.

She was born August 22, 1941, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Aubrey Hugh and Alberta Mavis (Shafer) Hunter, and was a graduate of Chautauqua Central School.

Audrey was a caregiver in varying capacities through the years, from being a full-time nanny to being a live-in personal attendant and housekeeper for many families.

An avid reader, to say the least, she loved her local libraries. Until recently, she took great joy in crafting and knitting and simply being creative.

Surviving is her son, William E. Sowrey of Falconer and her daughter, Christine M. (Stuart) Schweitzer of Lexington, KY; six grandchildren: Ryan (Becky) Sowrey of Salamanca, NY, Ross (Skyler) Sowrey of Randolph, NY, Randal (Giulia) Sowrey of Jamestown, Patricia Wilcox of Falconer, and Eli and Hannah Schweitzer, both of Lexington; and six great grandchildren: Rowan, Miya & Lincoln, and Anna, Luciano & Nico. Also surviving is a brother, Douglas (Patricia) Hunter of Franklinton, NC, and Audrey's twin sister, Alberta Hunter of Ithaca, NY.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Vivian Rossi who died Sept. 20, 2021; and a nephew, Michael Carlson in 2004.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

The beneficiary of successful open-heart surgery in the 1960's, Audrey's family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Assoc., P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
