LOCUST - Mrs. Barbee, 86, of 1251 Meadow Creek Road, died Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at Britthaven of Piedmont. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 23rd, at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, Elder Richard Almond officiating. Burial will follow in Meadow Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Locust. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Born February 12, 1917 in Stanly County, NC, she was daughter of the late Mary Ellen Green Morgan Hartsell and Rufus Farrington Morgan. A member of Running Creek Primitive Baptist Church, she had been employed with Allison Mfg. Company. She was preceded in death by a son, Dwain Ray Barbee. Survivors are her husband, Atlas Aron Barbee, and sons, Wilson Barbee and Aaron Barbee, all of Locust; daughter, Juanita Carpenter of Albemarle; brother, Arthur Ray Morgan of Locust; 7 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The family will be at the home of a son, Wilson Barbee, 206 Smith Street, Locust, NC. Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, is serving the Barbee Family.
