Mrs. Verlie Irene Powell Lambert, born in Burke County on November 9, 1926 to the late Robert and Mary Etta Watts Powell, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Lambert Sr., two sisters, eight brothers, and one great-great grandson.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Cannon(John), sons; Clyde Lambert Jr.(Buster), and Michael Lambert, sisters; Mary Bailey, Louise Owens, and Ethel Pearson, all of Morganton. Also surviving are a number of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Burke Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. John Frye officiating.
