Luis moved from his home in Puerto Rico to the mainland when he was 18. He started working and took on restaurant and later factory jobs. Luis connected with a family friend, Josefa Santiago when her family visited the mainland United States in 1950. Josie would eventually move to Philadelphia where the couple were married. While working he was also attending school and completed his Bachelor's Degree in Theology. He founded the True Light Pentecostal Church in North Philadelphia where he was a pastor until his death. Luis also started churches and missions in Florida, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Dominican Republic, and Mexico. He was very forgiving and was generous with his time and his money for the betterment of others. Luis' whole life was dedicated to ministry and his family.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. and funeral service at 10:00 A.M. at Calvary Chapel, 13500 Philmont Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19116. Park and enter the at the CPAC entrance at the rear of the building near the playground. His graveside service will follow at Lawnview Cemetery, 500 Huntingdon Pike, Rockledge, PA 19046.
Religious services will be conducted by Rev. Luis Maldonado from True Light Pentecostal Church, 2530 North 4th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19133.
