Sandy was born in Fayette, Missouri on June 17, 1959, the daughter of Ruby Pauline Parrish and Wilbert Lassiter O'Bryan who preceded her in death.

She was a devoted wife and loving mother. As the wife of a member of the U.S. Air Force, she served alongside Robert, making a home for their young family wherever he was stationed. She loved all animals and of course, had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.
Sandy leaves behind her beloved husband, Robert; three children: Tanya Mosley of Columbia; Dawn Riter of Rapid City, SD; Robert (Melissa) Gerdes III of Columbia; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers: John O'Bryan; Robert O'Bryan; one sister: Brenda Ashing and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bruce O'Bryan, and one daughter, Sarah Gerdes.
