Mr. Doolen was a Private in the 20th Texas Cavalry in Company H. He served under in Indian Territory confronting the Union forces till the end of the war. Mr. Doolen has a new Confederate VA headstone placed on his grave by the Sons of Confederate Veterans for his service to his country.
