Crystal Joy Snyder (Jones) -- Tuesday, August 5th, 1930 - Saturday, January 15th, 2022

Crystal Joy Snyder, of Harrisburg, PA, entered eternal life on January 15, 2022, at age 91. She was the daughter of George and Janet Jones of Hazleton, PA and was proceeded in death by her husband, Robert Snyder. She is survived by her four children: daughter Robin Potteiger (Gary) of Rutherford Heights; son Keith Snyder (Tracy) of Camp Hill; son Scott Snyder (Frances) of Rutherford Heights; son Dr. Brian Snyder (Diane) of Quincy, Illinois. She had eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Crystal was a graduate of Tamaqua High School, the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing, and the Harrisburg Hospital anesthesia training program. She retired as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) from the Harrisburg Hospital in 1990, and also worked as an anesthetist at the Miller Oral Surgery Clinic.
Crystal was a woman of strong faith. She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Rutherford Heights for over 50 years, serving as a Sunday school teacher and a member of the choir. She loved to sing, and performed in both national and international competitions with the Greater Harrisburg Chapter of Sweet Adelines. She also served as President of the Chapter.

Crystal loved life, and lived life to its fullest. She was a world-wide traveler, and enjoyed playing cards, swimming, dancing, fishing, reading, gardening, John Wayne movies, and bowling. She was a member of several social organizations including the American Business Women's Association, VFW, Steelton Moose, and two Red Hat Groups – serving as Queen of the Red Hat Dazzlers. She cared deeply for animals, especially her cats, who were her companions in her later years.

A funeral service for Crystal will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc, 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown with the Rev. Dr. Gordon R. Lewis officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing Thursday in the funeral home from 10 AM until time of the service.
