Sandra "Sandie" Bamber, 66, passed away on June 15, 2014, at Solera Assisted Living in Houston, Texas.
She was born on Oct. 28, 1947, in Normal, to Ivan and Viola Anderson Brown. Sandie grew up in Lexington. She graduated from Lexington High School in 1965. After high school, she worked in the banking industry before moving to Texas in 1978.
Sandie began work for Mustang Engineering as an accountant, where she worked for 12 years. She started in 1989 and retired in 2001. Working at Mustang Engineering was Sandie's proudest work accomplishment. She was one of only approximately 15 employees when she started. The company grew to a few hundred employees before she retired.
Sandie married William "Bill" Aaron Augustine on September 23, 1967.
Sandie later married Peter Bamber in 1995 in Pattison, Texas. They were happily married for 19 years.
She enjoyed reading, spending time with her granddaughters, shopping and watching sports, especially the Texans.
Sandie was preceded in death by her father, Ivan Brown.
Sandie is survived by her spouse, Peter Bamber of Cypress, Texas; daughter, Alisha (Fred) Lalumandier, Spring, Texas; son, Aaron Augustine, Dallas, Texas; brothers, John (Vicky) Brown, Hudson; Ray (Jan) Brown, Lexington, and Bill (Karen) Brown, Lexington; grandchildren, Danie, Avery, Taylor and Nikaela; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A memorial service was held July 19, 2014.
