Raymond Bailey was the son of Alex and Lucinda Bailey. He was coal miner and worked at the Buckeye Coal & Coke Company near Freeman WV. He was born in 1909 on Sinai Mountain, Goodwill, WV. In his early years while working at the Buckeye #2 mine he and his wife Mae Bailey lived in a company house near the Buckeye mine. In later years he built a house in Bluewell, WV where he lived out his life.
