Rev. Edgar Webster Tidwell, age 54, died at his home on Rt. 1, Blountsville, Sunday morning, May 4. Mr. Tidwell was found dead in bed; his death was due to a heart attack.

Born in Cleveland, Mr. Tidwell was the son of Joseph and Emmaline Moss Tidwell. In addition to his farming he had been a Baptist minister for twenty years, although at the time of his death he was not pasturing a church. He had had several churches outside the county as well as those in Blount.

The survivors are the wide, Mrs. Eddie Jett Tidwell; three sons, Wilson, Cullman; Norman, Washington, D.C.; Norris E., Blountsville; five daughters; Mrs. Joyce Bryson, Blountsville; Mrs. Nina Marie Dodson, Cullman; Mrs. Ernestine Mount, Blountsville; Mrs. Vera Helms, Birmingham; Misses Robbie and Reba Tidwell, Blountsville; four brothers, Allgood and Ollin, of Cleveland; Euriah, California; one sisters, Mrs. Bessie Green, Cleveland.

Funeral services were held at New Bethel Baptist Church with Reverends Robert Brooks, Bert Terrell, and Alfred Tielking officiating.

Interment was Tidwell Graveyard, Chambers Brown Service in charge.
