Born in Pickens, SC, she was the daughter of the late Purn Burgess and Corine Masters Burgess. Ruby worked at Belk's Department Store and in the restaurant business and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Ruby had a tender heart and soul and deeply loved her Lord and Savior.
Surviving to cherish her memory is her daughter: Sharon Reeves Nichols and husband Mike of West Union, SC; grandchildren: Julia Gaillard Prince (Jamie) of West Union, SC and Lukas Gaillard (Meghan) of Walhalla, SC; great-grandchildren: Kaleigh, Brayden, Trinity, Andy and Benjamin; sisters: Ruth Morris and Daisy Boggs; brothers: Cecil Burgess and Jack Burgess; step-daughters: Susan Chiles (Johnny) and Candy Futrell; loving sister-in-law: Linda Burgess along with many loving nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Along with her parents, Ruby was predeceased by brothers: Alvin Burgess, Richard Burgess, John Burgess, and Dell Burgess; sister: Maxine Hardin along with an infant sister.
