He is survived by his wife, Callie C. Anderson Bugess; children: Jerry Burgess (Grace), Danny Burgess (Niallah), Craig Burgess (Tilda), Joe Burgess (Cathy), Jane Burgess, Regina Ray (Andy); brothers: Cecil, John, Jack; sisters: Ruth, Ruby, Daisy; and many loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brothers: Alvin and Dell; sisters: Maxine and a still-born sister.
Burial: Cox Chapel Baptist Church.
