Ronald "Ron" Dean Reed, 68, longtime Rogers, Ark., resident, and recently of Jonesboro, Ark., passed away Sat. Jan. 1, 2022. He was born Jan. 3, 1953, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Earl and Ann King Reed.

Ron was an All-State football standout at Rogers [Ark.] High School and years later was inducted into the Rogers Sports Hall of Fame. He continued his education and outstanding football career at NE OK. Jr. College and then at SE MO. State Univ., and was an All-American at both schools. After coaching football in Rogers, Ark. and Harrison, Ark., Ron then enjoyed a 27-year career with Walmart and other entrepreneurial endeavors.

Ron enjoyed boating, fishing, golf, helping his son in business, coaching, and watching Gunsmoke on TV. He cherished the time he shared with his family and friends, and those he mentored. He will be remembered for his ability to inspire others to greatness with balance, fun, discipline, and priority in their lives.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jerry Barnett. Survivors are his children Kristyn Lawson (Levi), Bailey Reed, both of Rogers, Ark., and Beau Reed (Jessica) of Jonesboro, Ark., Rick Hogle and Ryan Evenson, who he loved as though they were his own children, grandchildren Kamryn and Ciera Lawson of Rogers, Ark., and Noah Reed of Jonesboro, Ark., and numerous family, friends, and Walmart associates.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Fri., Jan. 7, 2022, at Rollins Funeral Home, 1401 W. Hudson Rd., Rogers, Ark. 72756. A committal service will be at Rogers [Ark.] Cemetery, and a celebration of life at 2 pm Sat., Jan. 8, 2022, at The Moose Lodge.
