MUSCATINE, Iowa - Funeral services for Oscar Ruiz Sr., 64, father of Larry Ruiz of Plainview, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services with the Rev. Paul Appel officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for funeral and Cremation Services in Iowa.
Mr. Ruiz died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

He married Margarita Rangel on April 7, 1963, in Plainview, Texas.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and enjoyed cars, truck driving and being a grandfather.
He will be deeply missed by his wife; four sons, Oscar Ruiz Jr. of Iowa City, Abel Ruiz and his wife, Rita, and Daniel Ruiz and his wife, Loli, all of Muscatine, and Larry Ruiz and his wife, Michelle, of Plainview, Texas; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jose Ruiz of Muscatine and Alberto Ruiz and his wife, Lupe, of Alamo, Texas; and two sisters, Angelita Rojas and Maria Gomez and her husband, Jesse, all of Muscatine.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Delmiro and Frank; and a granddaughter, Michelle Ruiz.
