IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Frank 'Nune' Ruiz Jr., 55, Iowa City, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Services are 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, 2907 Mulberry Ave. The Rev. Sharon Phillips will officiate. Burial will be at Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5, at the funeral home. A memorial has been established at the funeral home.
Mr. Ruiz was born Aug. 7, 1949, in Napoleon, Ohio, the son of Frank and Agustina Casillas Ruiz. He married Irma Godino Dec. 31, 1968.
He was a member of the Catholic faith.
He was employed at Lakeside Apartments, Iowa City, for 11 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially deer hunting.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Gabriel Ruiz and wife, Mindy, of Kalona; a daughter, Janie Liticia Gonzalez and husband, Guadalupe, of Pharr, Texas; three brothers, Oscar Ruiz and wife, Margarita, Jose Ruiz and Albert Ruiz and wife, Lupe, all of Muscatine; two sisters, Angelita Rojas and Maria Gomez and husband, Jesse, all of Muscatine; and six grandchildren, Ashley Nicole, Aaron and Alissa Elizabeth Gonzalez, Alexandria Lee and Jenna Elizabeth Ruiz and Angel Peralta.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Elizabeth Peralta; and a brother, Delmiro Ruiz.
