Eugene Hutchins, son of the late Benjamin Hardy and Josie Francis Hutchins, was born December 2, 1921, in Griffithville, AR. He died June 9, 1998 in Little Rock. He was 76. He was united in marriage to Doris Jean Harvell and to this union three sons were born. After Doris' death, he married Lydia Harmon on October 30, 1992 in Little Rock. Mr. Hutchins served in the U.S. Army and spent many years as the Veterans Administration Service Officer for Izard County. Later he owned and operated Hutchins Greenhouse and Nursery. Survivors include his wife of the home; three sons, Donald Hutchins of Melbourne, Ronald Hutchins of Lacey, WA, and Dennis Hutchins of North Little Rock, AR; one sister, Dimple Tyree of Melbourne; one brother, Lester Hutchins of Heber Springs; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, his parents, four brothers, four sisters, one grandchild and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 12, 1998 at 2 p.m. at the Roman and Billy Howard Memorial Chapel in Melbourne with Leonard Williams officiating. Interment will be at Combs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
