Mr. Larry Cooper, age 77, of Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021, at Tattnall Healthcare Center in Reidsville after a brief illness.

He was a lifelong resident of Ailey and Mt. Vernon and was a 1962 graduate of Montgomery County High School. He was a welder in the early 1980s and more recently was self-employed as a pine straw wholesaler. He was a member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church and was active with the youth at the church.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray Cooper and Rossie Thigpen Cooper; and a sister, Rosemary Cooper Russell.

His surviving family includes one sister, Elizabeth Cooper Adams and husband Steve of the Spring Hill Community in Wheeler County; one brother, Randall Cooper and wife Sherri of the McGregor Community; one nephew, Michael Adams and wife Becky of Spring Hill; two nieces, Laura Adams of Spring Hill, and Rachael Russell of Reidsville; four great-nephews and one great-niece.

A memorial graveside service will be Wednesday, January 5th, at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. Vernon Memorial Cemetery with Pastor B.L. Horne officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 156, Vidalia, GA 30475.
