Actor. Rik Colitti gained fame as an American character actor. He was known for the films "Mr. Crocodile Dundee" in 1986 in the role of Danny, the cab driver; "Fort Apache The Bronx" in 1981 in the role of a policeman; and "Mike Hammer" in 1984. Born to Italian immigrants, he attended the New York Military Academy before going to the University of Southern California. He started his career on stage, touring with the production of the "Odd Couple." After debuting on Broadway in 1975 in Terrence McNally's "The Ritz," he appeared off-Broadway in Shakespearean productions. His film debut was in the 1960 film "Murder, Inc." In television, he had a recurring role in "Car 54, Where Are You?" and one episode of "Law and Order." He made over 125 commercials and was active in Southampton theater productions.
