Not Been Found
The body of C W Ollrich, who is supposed to have been drowned in the Merced river near Merced Falls about ten days ago, has not been found yet, notwithstanding parties have dragged and searched the river for several miles. At the time of Ollrich's disappearance he was drinking and it was in the night time. His horse and buggy were found on the bank of the river and his hat was near the water but further than that they have no trace of him. It is surmised by some that in his delirium he has wandered off and may yet turn up all right.

Body Found
The body of C W Ollrich, the blacksmith of Merced Falls who was drowned in the Merced river near that place about three weeks ago, was found last Saturday by a young man by the name of Ritchey, on a dam in the river at the old Feldhaus ford, and about three miles below the place where the deceased drowned. The body was partly out of the water and the flesh had been eaten from the pelvis on the back to the back of the head by some animal. The remains were taken to Snelling where they were viewed by a coroner's jury and then buried. Coroner Bradley held the inquest at Snelling in Monday last and the verdict of the jury was that the deceased came to this death by drowning.

One of his son's census states his father was from New York.

Husband of Mary Moreno from Mexico, married 25 Mar 1963 in Tuolumne County. Father of:
* Henry Ollrich 1864–1934
* Joseph John Ollrich 1867–1903 died in Honduras
* John Adams Ollrich 1869–1939
* William Joseph Ollrich 1872–1912
* Frederick Albert Ollrich 1875–1903
