James R. Peck 70, of Rockwood, went to be with his Lord on December 28, 2021 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born February 10, 1951 in Rockwood, he is the son of Leroy Ray. and Rebecca (Henry) Peck. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Roy Peck Jr. and sisters, Leona Putman, Shirley Leskey, and Emily Yonai, and a grandson Conner James Peck. Survived by his loving wife the former Denise F. Dickey to whom he was married 46 years, twin sons, Jason Peck married to the former Jill Fox, and Jeremy Peck, granchildren; Emma, Hannah, Brayden, and Makayla Peck, brothers; Ralph, John, Bill, Greg, and Jeff Peck, and sisters; Louise Miller, Doris Robertson, Donna Lytle, and Pat Foy, and numerous nieces and nephews. Jim was a 1971 graduate of Rockwood High School. He was drafted into the Army following graduation, where he served in Alaska. He worked for Singo Feed, Cobers Diesel, and Rockwood School District. Jim also volunteered at Somerset Hospital following his retirement, and was a member of Milford United Methodist Church where he served on various committees. He was also a member of the Somerset County Sheriffs Comm. and Confluence VFW. Jim loved the outdoors, gardening, building things, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He had a contagious smile and a heart of gold. He loved his family and friends unconditionally, and never saw a person in need that he didn't try to help. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends and his buddy, Jack. Friends received 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Somerset, and from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the Milford United Methodist Church, Somerset, where a service will immediately follow at 11 a.m. with Reverend Douglas Burns officiating.
