Shirley Kathryn Leskey, née Peck, of Rockwood, PA passed away peacefully in the care of hospice at Meadowview Nursing Home on June 8, 2020. Born May 5, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Ray and Rebecca Peck. Shirley is survived by her two children; Tracy C. Leskey of Shepherdstown, WV and Matthew D. Leskey of Sanford, FL, by brothers and sisters; Ralph "Dub" Peck, Louise Miller, Doris Robertson, John Peck, Donna Lytle, Helen "Patty" Foy, Jim Peck, Bill Peck, Greg Peck, and David 'Jeff' Peck; well as by brother- and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, as well as her sister Emily Yonai, and brother, Ray Peck, Jr. Shirley graduated from Somerset High School in 1957.
Shirley enjoyed reading, all things chocolate, pizza, and very much appreciated nature and the outdoors. Shirley also loved a good laugh and even graduated from Toby's Clown School in Lake Placid, FL, taking classes during winter stays following her husband's retirement. She was a strong advocate for public education and children's welfare having served on the Advisory Board for Children and Youth Services for many years. Friends will be received from 5-7 P.M. Wednesday at MILLER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, SOMERSET. Due to the COVID-19 situation, masks are mandatory for entry. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
